Mountain Bike General Posts - iBikeRide
Written by Daniel Mintz

iBikeRide is a place for riders to connect and meet and in the process share knowledge to move their biking forward

  • iBikeRide is a new social networking mountain bike site with high quality and well presented useful user generated content. It attracts riders across all biking disciplines from trail, downhill, shore, dirt, trial and freeriding. Hence it is targeted at 13 - 45 year olds, both men and women. iBikeRide is aimed at enthusiasts as well as catering strongly for beginners.

  • There are two reasons that iBikeRide is unique and stands out. First iBikeRide allows riders to connect and communicate in multiple ways that are simple and diverse. Starting with a conventional Forum riders post and talk. Riders can also connect through the innovative instant chat on the home page or can leave public posts on other riders Walls. For more personal communication there is a widely used personal email message system or private chat. Users can even create and join groups and then bulletin all group members. The Event planner allows riders to post rides and so meet up on the trails.
  • Secondly iBikeRide fills a gap in the market through having probably one of the most comprehensive range of skills articles and video tutorials as well as a growing range of maintenance posts. These posts and video uploads like everything on iBikeRide are submitted and voted on by the rider members of the site. Through the means of Video and Articles users can learn and share tips. These articles are also complimented by a varied selection of entertaining and useful trail and kit reviews.
  • iBikeRide is new, original, approachable,  a rich resource and knowedge base and as exciting as any extreme sport site out there today.

Just over 10 months old iBikeRide is experiencing great growth! In April visits to iBikeRide increased 44% over March with an average of 2506 visits a day driving a total of 75,197 visits for the month  with over 200,000 page views (Webalizer). Even more on average each user visits iBikeRide 8.0 times a month (up from the 6.4 times a month in Feb) showing a healthy increase in user loyalty to the site. We hope we are onto something here that is benefiting the mtb community.

In December and April iBikeRide was featured in the reputable  IMBA (International Mountain bike Association) newsletter and website and has also been featured in the February 2008 edition of the leading MBR (Mountain Bike Rider) glossy magazine. In March iBikeRide formed press relationships with most of the top bike manufacturers and kit suppliers including Trek, Giant, Specialized, Marin, The Collective, Kona, Garmin, Marzocchi, Fox, UCI, Mongoose, Sram, ActionCameras, Santa Cruz and more to ensure that when the latest bike and team news breaks it is featured here on iBikeRide as it happens.
