Ok, since I'm sort of new to the whole biking thing, I have a question that may seem pretty basic. I am considering 'upgrading' my crankset. I am currently rocking a 32/18 setup, and I'm considering going to a 36/18...my question is, do I need a longer chain, and if I do, how do I figure the proper length? thanks ryan

Yo buddy. I would guess you do but my maintenance skills have never been great. Have you tried checking out the Park Tool website. They have some great tips. I'm sure I have seen in there an actual formula for working out chain length speicfically http://www.parktool.com/repair/byregion.asp and these guys too http://www.bike-maintenance.com/ Once you know then come back, share and post
