thought i would ask for some advise about both these.
first PEDALS at presant i have flats with the toe traps which ok serve there purpose but i want to try spd's as they seem far more practical. I have heard that they take a lot of geting used to and to expect some falls, my local shop has these shimanos in stock the M324 @£40 & m424 @ £30, M520 @ £30 & m 545 @ £50 all in my price range just any advice on which ones would best suit someone who has never tried them before.

Also I have Avid BB5 mechanical brakes and i want to upgrade to hydrualics any ideas for average priced that i can get?

Cheers

hey matt... spds do take a little time to get use to, i use shimano dx m647.(£49.99) and have done for 5 years, i have updated them but only for the same, i find they are a good all round pedal for xc and down hill. as for brakes, do you have hubs that are disc compatibil? if so most disc brakes are good now days, and you can find some good offers online, i have used hayes hfx-mags and found them sweet and easy to look after, i now use hope mono m4 and have found these to be much better.. chain reaction cycles have some good deals on at the mo but take a good look about...

Thanks Tomtomks will have a look at the web site.
i guess the answer is yes as i am currently running mechanical discs, Please excuse my ignorance not to up on the technical side of things, the hubs are Shimano M475-L Disc so i guess that answers your question and my ignorance lol
