Had a suprisingly great day at Epping yesterday. Went with Shaz and although of course we got lost a bit we managed to have some of the funnest 3.5 hours of biking I'd had in along time.

Two reasons for this. Just off the Robin hood roundabout we found a little play area of drops and kickers that had been built that we sessioned for an hour. You could build up some speed as you took of the lip of the kicker and we got lost in the frenzy of that just one more go. Shaz rode and jumped off everything and as she was pushing herself more than me she did some spectacular wipe outs including an unintentional SuperGirl that ended in bloody knees. Completely unphased she just tried them over and over again. You had to be impressed.

Then we did the traditional getting lost looking for Loughton camp but found some sweet singletrack on the way. Eventually we found the camp and there is a section just outside of it that is like a natural 4x track with a line of pretty big tabletops one after the other ending in paths that lead to big drops and sweet singletrack.

Reminiscent of riding the dual with Tom a few months back I sessioned one of the tabletops until my body couldn't really move much more and only gave up when I realised I was out of water, getting dehydrated and my little legs were screaming at me to stop. Awesome fun.

I've been to Epping in search of the holy grail maybe 7 times now. It might just been found

Decided to grab the train to the Golden Mile with wee one in tow.. Tomks met us a Chalkwell station (bro no show again )and we had cycle path ride up to Shoebury... Poppy decided she was going to be the original XC rider for the day and left us for dust, playing balancing acts along kerbs and kicking off..
Girlie has found her cycling legs again and enjoyed her jaunt and was unfazed by the extended return to Leigh-on-Sea.. Good skills practiced by all and muchly ices and icecream consumed
Wicked tarmac day

Fun day at the Hill today. Feeling my downhill legs are starting to come back this week. The DH3 run which took me off 3 times last time seemed a breeze today and the black run which I had mentally put off last time was just sweet today. Forgotten how both petrifying yet awesome it is).

Aston Hill is the dry is hard to beat.

Richard has offered to take me down a couple of runs next time and I might take him up soon be good to see how a pro does it. Might need to work on my fitness in advance me thinks
