This weekend I felt I was really getting back to old form (in terms of mentally). Physically there is a way to go

Saturday decent ride out in Epping Forest. Sound some cool runs starting up at the cricket ground and then riding down towards the Forest centre then out to Loughton Camp where there were some downhill rooty sections which raised an eyebrow. I still need to go out with the local crew there as there is more I am sure i am just not finding.

Sunday was 2 laps of the Crowthorne Woods, Swinley Forrest XC race. 1 hour and 12 minutes all out racing nearly killed me physically but this route is great fun. They have built up some bomb hole sections with drops, roots and corners that really keep you on your toes. All in all a great route. Racing is fun, especially if you do it for fun. Give it a go the atmosphere is great. I don't go to Swinley that often but when I do it impresses me more very time. I'll be doing a write up of the race and a short vid to just capture the atmosphere laters.

Anyone else out this weekend?

Hooked up with a newer rider who had not ridden Mt. Fromme on the North Shore before. We did Lower Oil Can and Owler. The trails were wet and muddy with some very slippery roots. Excellent ride.

Mixed but overall good weekend riding. Spent most of Saturday fixing my Big Hit and so only got to play locally in the end as the daylight hours dwained whils my maintenance skills took their time to do their magic

Sunday was ace. Met up with a local club the Epping Hard cru and had a good muddy and wet rooty ride around parts of Epping Forest I didn't know existed. This is now my closes place to ride so keen to get ot know it more and more. Cool club and great folks. Look forward to riding with them again very soon.

In need of pushing the skills a bit more now the arm is good so I think a decent Chicksands session is on the cards especially now the Big Hit is fully functional and looking at me continually out the corner of her eye like a neglected ..........whatever!
