Yippee!!! finally after a few weeks of hard 14 hours a day slog, I found a day for ME!!! well, 9 til 1
Ickle_pops been at summer school for a few days, so today I kitted and after dropping her and her friend off, I took myself to Epping.
It's a place I really enjoy riding, so vast with lots of little openings beckoning you to enter... almost makes you feel like Alice in Wonderland with the temptation to follow trails that could lead....well to almost anywhere!!
Today I was on a mission. I rode just about anywhere you could, shouldn't and couldn't!!!
Muchly fun, with only one stress point of a dog wanting to eat my Kenda's!!
I rode or about three hours, meandering in and out of the trees, on and off the trail paths... and finally as my camel back ran out of refreshment, I found the whoops and doops in Loughton Camp.
Dan had mentioned how busy it had been the last time he had been there...I was expecting to be pushed out abit by loads of teenagers, but hey, only a squirrel in sight. I had a wander round and sessioned for about half hour, but to honest, really needed another person with me. Not just from a safety aspect, but just for fun factor....Still, I had a really cool day.

Had great fun riding in Swinley today... http://ibikeride.com/MyBlog/Swinley-Time-To-Play.html
Even had a mini ibikeride meet... was so cool! All very last minute and worked just great! Be so cool if the vein continues for people to meet to share the sport and past time they love...

life is an adventure or nothing at all

Took a trip to dalby forest on Monday (still technically the weekend as I wasn't at work)- completed most of the red route, most due to a mechanical issue halted Dave's stumpy, - no forward drive following the death of a free hub !
Really enjoyed the trails extremely well put together, climbs not too boring as they were always followed by a quick down hill or
Particular sections of note "sweet 16" & "heaven 17".

Ride made so much better by a tyre swap the day before - finally got rid of the Michelin XC X'trem's (read X tremely S@*t)put some nevegals back on and remembered what it was like to get the bike to go where you wanted/expected it to.

Think the centre at Dalby definitley equals Afan in that it has a well prepped bike shop, good facilities for non-riders, £7 per car charge worth the money.

Ride confirmed what Dave & I have known for a long time. We need to lose some weight - not least Dave (lardy) as I towed him the 2-3 miles to the tarmac road that took us hairing back to Low Dalby at excess of 40mph (interesting hitting speed bumps). Fastest Daves bikes ever been - AND it was broken!

Definitley going back to do again (properly)
Highly recommended.
