Coed y Brenin British Mountain Bike XC National Series Dragon XC Posted at 2008/02/18 14:24 Karma: 3
Suday I arrive at Coed y brenin National Series Dragon XC race .
It's 11.30 am blue sky's and -3 very cold but nice , this is my first attemt at mountain bike racing as i use to road race as a 2nd cat rider in my early years stopped in 1994 . well i've alway's wanted to have a go at mountain bike racing , and the chance came for the first time Sunday 17 feb 2008 . This was going to be a challenge as my fitness was'nt up to scratch and racing so early in the year is mad But i was up for it ..ok the race starts of with the elite first then 3 miniutes later the masters then every one else and the vets all go at once .. time is ticking and i need a pee not a good start lol well the race is on every one is getting in to there position up to the single track , its all going good nice and smooth and fast , then bang we all come to a halt , a rider stops his chain came of ,we all try and ride past some walk past him , then its on again, by now the leading group is well away ,i'm gutted this means more work to catch up, so i'm fighting to get through one by one i pick them off some catch back up but there's no time for rest or even a second wind , the climb was really hard it just kept going and going up and up take a right turn its going up , your thinking to your self this mad ,can't get any worse . i was wrong next turning its up again and there all about 800 metres long of climbing . I new this was going to be a hard ride still climbing , then it flattens out for about half mile then it rises only a bit of a drag but by now i was suffering no second wind , my legs i think i left them at home , nothing totaly dead , no power just numb , so i plod on trying to catch a rider in my site , i chased and grit my teeth finaly i catch him , only to find that he had missed the turning to the left , i looked back where we came from, and 8 to 12 riders coming down all missed the turning , no marshall about so we carried on , could'nt belive it another hill but a rocky one my breathing was all gone my legs stuffed . This race was a killer it sorted out the men from the boys , so i digged in and cought a few guys we all hit the technical descend very rocky but i thought sod it i'm going for the kill hammered it all the way ,then nearly lost it on a bend way to fast slamed the back break and skidded round it instead ,
then i attack again by now the end of the first lap was close . Then i was coming back up to where we started of, by now i was knackered , so its all back up hill again digging in all the way this climb is an absalute killer , finaly there was a marshall at the next turning the one we missed , wow how technical big drops loads of rocks sliceing in between them trying to keep the speed up ,then its all up hill again , i decided only to do 2 laps as i was ment to do 3 but my legs were recked plus i video it but for some reason the vid only recored the first hour , which at least 40 minuits was waiting at the start and it missed the best part of the race the mega descend of the technical side of it , Dragon's back it was fantastic little table tops flying at speed then hitting the burns at speed then bigger table tops wow i was flying over them ,but the hills they killed me . well i past the finish line and told them i'm done ,, In all i was told i did very well considdering i had'nt race since 1994 and that it just so happen to be the Nationals series and carring a sack with all the camera gear , well this is a ride i wont forget for a long time .. i will be sorting out the vid today and hopefuly post it on the site .. oh nearly every one at the series knows about this site , its amazing the word of mouth

Here below are Archos 405 specs. And it say nothing about video input jack. For that you gonna need DVR Station Gen 5 or DVR travel adapter by Archos Check here

I've no idea how to convert 520 TV line to standard digital res. One important thing noticed that Archos 405 can only record VGA quality 640x480 so if 520 TV lines converts to higer res than VGA you gonna loose quality.

You better ask guys in Actioncameras a few questions because I'm not an expert in TV systems
