Dont buy those expensive neoprene chainstay protectors when you no doubt have the ingredients for your own in your tool box. Simply cut an old inner tube up to wrap around the chainstay and use zipties to secure it in place. Hey presto a simple (and more importantly cheap, leaving more money for important upgrades) chainstay protector.

I use to use piece of an old tyre. Cut out the wires and zip it with cable straps. Looks more hardcore than inner tube It is a good idea to cut out the knobs on the tyre in places where zipties will go. Recently I went posh and bought Lizard Skin CS protector - crap. I'm going to put my tyre back on

I am a great believer in electrical tape - but i am not sure about it as a chainstay protector. Might leave messy gunge when you replace it or it may sag and come off with wet and mud and dont forget cleaning.

My bike came with a neoprene one but i like the inner tube and tyre ideas.
Crack on lads.

i use the inner tube trick aswell, but my own personal addition i ask a local plummer for some small diameter pipe lagging then wrapped the inner tube round it, 3 of the trust worthy cable ties and bobs your fathers brother a perfect chain stay protector for a grand total of £0.0o.........PRICELESS
