Endo / Stoppie Hot

endo.jpg

The Endo, otherwise known as the Stoppie is a trick where the back wheel is lifted and the rider coasts on the front wheel. This trick will help teach you the balance points of your bike. The Endo turn is when the bike is turned whilst on the front wheel.

(contribution from Segio Rivas sergitobt from Santiago, Chile)

Step One

Easiest done on a slight decline with seat down.

Step Two

Ride at a robust speed (just faster than walking speed). From a central position move your body weight all the way back.

Step Three

Squeeze on your front brake whilst  unweighting your feet and ensuring your arms are fully extended and making sure your backside is pushed right back as far as it will go. The back wheel will lift and momentarily you will hover in pure wonder.

Step Four

Allow the back wheel to gently return to the ground, release the front brake and ride on.

Don't do what my bro did and learn this one whilst clipped in. Feels great when you nail it.. Like floating in the airSMILEYS_SMILE

Skills Review

Simple Getting the weight over front and lifting up back wheel
Difficult Getting your bum right back at just the right time to stop you going head over. So long as you are ready to release brakes you will be fine
