... hi !! am off to the cli-machx this weekend with camera and head cam in toe! so hope to get some good stuff to post when i get back. if you have never been its a cool trail, about 16km with 10km of single track. starts with a forest road climb with some sweet single track in the mix. once at the top its 3.4km of down....with all you look for in a good trail, whoops, rock slab drops sweet flowing turns, and just at the end 7 or 8 huge berms......much fun.... its a must if you are into your trails riding.... |

... my mate just came back from it last weekend (gamecat) and he was grinning from ear to ear. I've not done it but recently seem to be hearing more and more good things. I'll be planning a trip before the end of the year for sure. Cant wait to see the footage. Enjoy...only 4 days to go...NB: thinking aloud this site really needs a weekend countdown clock on it. |

... Went to the ClimachX only for the 3rd time and it just gets better! The climb is getting shorter, the singletrack sweeter and the descent just wicked!! Really is one to be checked out!! Have only really spent most of my time at Afan doing Whites and the Wall, with a couple of visits to CwmCarn thrown in. ClimachX has proved a top place to use all the skills I've been learning and improvement in all areas shows in my riding ability...Anyone wanting to go to ClimachX,check out skills section on this website b4 going..helped me muchly & more! |

... hi all.. just back from a 25 mile loop of the chilterns hills, this was my first time there and what a cool place to ride! iam not sure where we started, but i do know we used part of the ridgeway. there are no mountains but the climbs are short steep and hard, the pay of is some great views from the ridgetop that look over flat lands to oxford on one side and down to henley on the other. there are no big dowm hills but some great fast, but tricky steep ruts that take you down into the woodlands where you pick up on some sweet flowing singletrack, that will make you grin . there was a little tarmac on this ride (not much ) and the bridleways were some of the best ive ever ridden. most of the trails are well compact with a good mix of flint. ive not been on a loop for a few years and found that the chilterns has just miles of tracks that all link up for a great place to ride, i will be going back!!! thanks to steve for being my guide on this cool ride.... will try to get a map from him to post!! |

... AFAN!!! well wat can i say!!! whites is now all single track yes no forest road!! with the new section(ENERGY) now open i think its the only trail i know that is all single track. the new section is at the end of windy point( to the right at the top of the climb) or the red run as its known. you can still link energy with the black run, but you will have to use the forest road to do so, turn left at the bottom of the black, then right down the road till you get to energy. it has all you want.. fast berms, some table tops some fast single in and out of the trees( not alot of room for your arms)and some of that north shore.. its cool man a must try . its a bit like the M25 on the way up at the mo as the uplift is not working, with a little more time for the trail to bed in the new section will get better iam sure, this trail is one of my favorites and justs keeps gettin better, so go on get down there and give it a go!!! did get a little footage form the head cam.. so look out for it.....anyone who knows of a all single track trail ride with no forest road let me know!!! have fun and.......just get out and ride |
