With our current obsession with downhill lets not forget how we get thereWink...Ellsworth's Pua Sawicki tips on riding uphill

(Courtesy of  pctv1 )
  • As you approach the hill (don't wait until the incline starts) get into a gear that is neither too easy not too hard (but lower definitely)
  • Choose your line (one that avoids obstacles and too much steering is best)
  • Keep your upper body relaxed (let your legs do the work)
  • Pull back on the handlebars not up (you don't want to do a wheelie)
  • When really steep perch on the front of your saddle and get your weight over the handlebars. This will control your steering.
  • Pedal smooth
  • Enjoy soon you are going down
