With our current obsession with downhill lets not forget how we get there ...Ellsworth's Pua Sawicki tips on riding uphill
- As you approach the hill (don't wait until the incline starts) get into a gear that is neither too easy not too hard (but lower definitely)
- Choose your line (one that avoids obstacles and too much steering is best)
- Keep your upper body relaxed (let your legs do the work)
- Pull back on the handlebars not up (you don't want to do a wheelie)
- When really steep perch on the front of your saddle and get your weight over the handlebars. This will control your steering.
- Pedal smooth
- Enjoy soon you are going down
