Always Best To Get Out And Ride
Over the last 7 years one of the key ingredients to surviving the physical endurance of the weekend riding frenzy that forces me to steal most daylight hours on a saddle (well once I have surfaced that is
.....is the daily commute on my bike to work.
As I work for myself my clients can be all over and outside London. So sometimes my commute is 10 miles, sometimes 5 and sometimes more.
The journey in is a key opportunity
Decided on my new bike!
Finally came to a decision as to what bike I am going to get now. I can proudly announce I will be getting a Gary Fisher Hifi Deluxe (07).
Gravil Pit Spring The Fifty
I wrote to the Newhall guys again asking what they were planning on using the pland for as they had refused the request to turn it into a bike park..
Their response below gives me more hope in the sense that I now have a new contact the "Residents Association" to negotiate with. I will see if people who actually live on the estate can give me a better introduction into the residency association as it is formed
What new bike?????
Here it is. In August I was knocked off my bike on my commute home from work, the offending driver failed to stop to exchange details. After a couple of months of no news from the Met's finest (ha) I decided to ring them only to be told they have closed the case. Not only that I learn't after asking why they said we explained in the letter. I got no letter as it turned out they sent it to the wrong address :D .&

The story continues and is not yet over. I'm looking to arrange a local petition next. Aston Hill XC course
Yo did the Aston Hill, xc course yesterday. Good to see that the place is still busy, alive and kicking. I was feeling a lot more confident on my bike and was able to pick up a bit more speed than my first ride out at Chicksands the day before.
Definetly need to focus on my fitness mind
Also spoke to Paul who is sponsored by the course owners and has been doing what maintenance he could do over the last year and I am looking forward to going to the meeting tonight with the Forestry commission and Buckinghma bikes (new owners). Seems a lot of
Stumpy is back where he belongs
Chicksands was great. I did the XC twice. First time I was a bit nervous and my riding a bit wobbly so I did it again at more speed and it all flowed as it should and the bike was really responsive. Mainly I had no handling problems
(the docs aren't always right)
Think it has been 4 months since the break and and testing riding. Pleased to be riding as been feeling a bit of a fake it has been that long

South Downs route

We start this route in a lay-by on the A26 by Itford farm and Southease Railway Station. It's big enough for about 5-6 cars I would say.
Once you have got yourself ready, leave the car south and there is a track leading off the road on your left. You
