In 2007 Peru was hit by an earthquake and is still recovering from this (more info at the end). In 2006, the area of Ica, in Peru which has a reputation for sandboarding (hence the pic and there is some short awesome video footage of this at the end of the vid), hosted some great Dirt Jumping trials. Some are done superbly and some look painful..(very).

Peru recently in August suffered a terrible 8.0 earthquake in 2007 and towns like ICA are still in a state of emergency. 1000's are displaced and around 500 people died (many in Ica) and For more information and ways how to help please check out:
