Publicity and Sponsorship Print

Folks I'm looking to take forward iBikeRide.com into a long term sustainable and positive venture for the biking community. I believe strongly and passionately it has the strong potential to be this.

At the moment I see us needing two core things:

a) increased publicity

b) some sponsorship

Note that both of these are vey interelated. Publicity drives traffic. Sponsors only sponsor sites with large traffic. This site needs therefore larger traffic. Sponsorship of course drives cash. Cash drives money that can be spent on publicity. Publicity drives the large traffic and so on. We have a little catch 22 here you see as we have neither publicity nor sponsorship. To date I have contacted all the top retailers and manufacturers and had no end of interesting and positive conversations (I'm yet to talk to anybody that doesn't look at the site and say "your different.. we really like what you are doing?"). Buidling relationships takes time and we have made god inroads.

I strongly believe the way forward is to focus on publicity and getting the word out. If we get publicity then we will deliver traffic figures that will attract sponsors. I will take all suggestions and more I ask you to spread the word and get the ibikeride link and word out on sites and within the biking community as much as you possibly can.

Cash is needed to a) drive continued publicity b) pay the site costs c) allow investment into developing the site and the iBikeRide service further d) allow the recruitment of key technology and marketing skills e) free me up to spread the word and allow my daughter more access to the home computer so she can IM her mates;)

To unplug this catch 22 situation I am also considering taking some time to drive a a business plan and attract investment and an injection of cash for marketing activity to drive publicity. All efforts and suggestions appreciated. If you have any good ideas for how to publicise the site for me to add in the plan let me know. Thanks for all your efforts in contributing to the site and spreading the word to date.

Life is an adventure or nothing at all.
