I wrote to the Newhall guys again asking what they were planning on using the pland for as they had refused the request to turn it into a bike park..

Their response below gives me more hope in the sense that I now have a new contact the "Residents Association" to negotiate with.  I will see  if people who actually live on the estate can give me a better introduction into the residency association as it is formed .

 Their response:

Daniel

Gravel Pit Spring (the official name for the wood) is conveyed to the Newhall Residents Association and until such organisation is officially launched, it remains in the care of Newhall Trust.

The residents of Newhall contribute a sum of money to have this area, in addition to other non adoptable green spaces on Newhall, maintained. Newhall Trust recognises that the wood is currently being used as an informal cycle track mainly by local children/ teenagers. It is their wish that this informal arrangement remain.

I hope I have fully answered your query.

Kind regards

S
