Folks,

The first ibikeride Newsletter went out the other day to a great response. If you haven't subscribed already please do so on the Newsletter link on the left Main Menu. Just quickly reading it back already so much new stuff has happened on the site (such as ibikeride maps, private messaging / chat and an upgraded Google site and www search) since it went out.

Here is the newsletter...dated 16th September 2007

Welcome to the first newsletter from ibikeride!

It has been a busy couple of weeks with lots happening in the industry as well as on the site.

Fort William
Firstly if you haven't already check out the coverage of the Fort William UCI Mountain Bike and Trials 2007 World Cup Championships. By the time you get there a video compilation of my weekend there covering the action will be up. The Brits did us proud with 4 medals and the whole event was crazy with Peaty fever http://ibikeride.com/mountain-bike-general-posts/general-posts/2007-fort-william-uci-mtb-and-trials-world-championship/

My Rider Profile
There has been some updates to your Rider Profile pages with it now being much easier to visit other riders and post on their walls. As well as uploading your profile photo you can let other riders know what type of riding you do, where you do it and what your ride. You can also manage your own personal picture and video gallery from here as well as your blogs, forum posts and any General Posts you have had published. So it is much easier to build your profile, personalise and check out and connect with other riders (which is what it is all about). check out my profile to get an idea...... http://ibikeride.com/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=userProfile&user=63&Itemid=1

Post Article and Post Blog
Two new services have been launched:

a) Post Article allows you to post an article on anything from skills, trails, maintenance (surgery) tips, or kit reviews. Once submitted. The editor reviews and will publish (http://ibikeride.com/index.php?option=com_ja_submit&Itemid=104)

b) Post Blog allows you to post your own blogs. This service has had a few teething problems but is fine now. You can edit your blogs and amend these at any time and it can be your own personal account of your thoughts, riding experiences or whatever. You will need to log in to blog (http://ibikeride.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=109)

ibikeride get slots of article donations from it's affiliates like bikeskills. com which focuses on trail riding skills, mtbvideos.co.uk which focuses on trail videos, pctv.com covering both skills and maintenance video tutorials and bmxperu with an amazing collection of dirt park and bmx tutorials but is always looking for articles from it's own users most of all and your experiences to make the site really great. So please please get posting.

OK folks, soon we will have more kit reviews, more trails, and the ibikeride store to help fund and keep the site going;) This will complement the recent Google advertising you will see. Please feel free to click on the banners;). We are hoping in the ibikeride store to get cool ibikeride T-Shirts initially followed by skills, maintenance and trails DVDs and books. All stuff retailed will be in line with the ethos of the site to get us trying something new, things that are personal to you and mostly useful and entertaining.

Right I think that's enough for the first newsletter so again thanks for your support and enjoy the ride.
