SPECIALIZED SUPPORTS BREAST CANCER CARE BIKE RIDE

Celebrities to ride from London to Paris

To raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Care

August 12th, 2008– Chessington, UK. From the 3 September – 7 September Holly Davidson, Finlay Kemp, Jade Davidson, Ania Sowinski, Ben Lewis, Tom Nolan, Collette Cooper, Rosie Brennan, Raff Degruttola, Simon Jones and Gareth Lewis will be cycling the 300 miles from London to Paris to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Care. They will be cycling through the Kent countryside, across the Channel, through the small villages and medieval market towns of northern France, passing the famous battleground of the Somme and finally arriving in Paris.

Holly Davidson said ‘We are a small group of friends whose lives have been affected by cancer in one way or another. Cycling the 300 miles from London to Paris is a chance to not only challenge ourselves, but to raise awareness and money for Breast Cancer Care - a wonderful cause. Through the blisters, punctures and saddle sores we also hope to have lots of fun and laughs along the way.’

Text Box: Sadie Frost added “I had hoped to be cycling alongside my son Fin and my sisters Jade and Holly, but unfortunately whilst training I fell off my bike and fractured my hand. After having an operation I was told that it would be unlikely it would heal in time for me to complete the challenge, so now I am committed to helping our group of friends raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Care. My auntie had breast cancer and so many people I know have been affected by it, so I want to give something back to a charity that helps so many people.

The team will be riding Specialized Designs for Women Vita Comp and men's Allez Elite bikes, best known for their performance and endurance merits. They both feature an A1 Premium Aluminium frame and the Vita Comp benefits from a Design for Women ergonomic design. The riders will be wearing Specialized’s Apparel, Spirita and Sonoma shoes and D4W Propero helmet specifically designed to help raise funds for Breast Cancer Care.

“Specialized is dedicated to helping Breast Cancer Care and thanks to our Designs for Women products and our new 09 Breast Cancer range of bikes and equipment we are delighted to be part of this event” said Richard Hemington, Managing Director of Specialized UK.
