This DVD is a film by “Jedi and Stophe”. Regulars at iBikeRide will be used to viewing the high quality of short videos Jedi posts to the site.

This film is not what you might expect i.e. just a combination of the ace short video posts we are luckily used to. This is much more. A true film which is a rare testament to some of the best freeriding and shore riding there is to be seen on an international scale.

What I liked most about this film was the combination of different locations and the variety of shore riding on offer. Locations vary from the rugged terrain of Scotland to the sweetness of the Alps, the awesomeness of British Columbia to our own rural back yard place of mystery and wonder the Herts Shore (of which I believe the DVD sales goes towards keeping the uptake going)

Variety comes in many guises and expect to be whisked away hypnotically as we see these riders impart their fascination and command of wood in every guise known. See them take in skinnies on ice and snow, tree branches in the pitch of night, rocky steep downhill tracks to amazing ladder drops in glorious sunshine and wild forest.

The skills cover drops, drops and drops, steep climbs, wall runs, skinnies, endo side drops,, seesaws and the mastering control of all these things at both high speed and more impressively at speeds so slow it doesn’t seem real. The crashes and wipe out section reminds us these riders are human and there is value in seeing the correct way to dismount a bike whilst many feet up!

The soundtrack is sweet from the likes of Pearl Jam, Radio Head, Public Enemy and Audioslave to name but a few.and is neatly interspersed with the sound of rubber on wood to great effect. I’m still humming the theme tune in my head.

The only criticism to give a balanced review is I would have liked some more voice over narration to set the mood and also some breaks visually telling me which locations we where being whisked away to. This is the DVD cover but be nice in the movie itself. Regardless of this the film managed to take me to somewhere special and more fundamentally left me positively wanting me to push my own game more.

It will now proudly sit as a previous missing entry in my rack of bike porn in my living room.

If you want to get it (I defiently recommend you do) then it is retailed at Marshall Cycles in the UK for around a tenner. Great value. Call 01707393322 and ask for Paul

Respect.
