Zero G to Open New Specialized Concept Store on March 20th 2008. Zero G will become Specialized’s fourth Concept Store in the UK. Based in Bristol, the new store will be the first true city centre location for a Concept Store and will feature the latest retail design concepts and carry men and women’s range of bicycles and equipment suitable for all ages and skill levels.

Zero G, owners of Garlands and Dave Bater Cycles was formed three years ago out of a passion for cycling.  The old “Bike Tech” store was originally the entrance foyer for a 4 star hotel and in later years a wedding dress shop. It was converted into a cycle shop in the eighties and has been a thriving bike shop since. Acquired last year by Zero G, the store will now be turned into a Specialized Concept Store.

The store will be located in a prime spot on Park Street, located in one of Bristol’s busiest shopping areas. The new Concept Store will sit next to a range of other privately owned stores ranging from trendy skate and surf wear to Rolex watches and champagne bars.

“As a big Specialized dealer already, we can see a massive benefit in converting the High St flagship store into a Concept Store to take cycle retail to the next level.  Specialized bring absolute professionalism and innovation to the store and with the brand we envisage big things for Park St.” Said Paul Newman, owner of Zero G.

“The building in Park Street has a great depth of architectural design. Specialized store designer has created a store that will function well within this environment, while enhancing its character and responsibly maintaining its features.” Said William Watt, Retailer services Manager.

The new store will have 6 staff, 5 of which SBCU (Specialized Bicycle University) trained, including team leader, James Carver, who is also BG F.I.T trained.
