Future, the special-interest media company has teamed up with a string of top bike brands to promote five nationwide demo days in 2008 Covering Glentress, Aston Hill, .Coed Y Brenin, Dalby and Newham Park.

The National Demo Days Series is organised by the team behind Future’s What Mountain Bike, Mountain Bike UK, Health & Fitness magazine and website www.bikeradar.com and returns next year following the successful launch in 2007. The series of free events is open to the general public and will be held at trails across the UK with the first kicking off at Glentress in Scotland on Sunday 10th February.

The Demo Days are a chance for top bike brands to show off their new 2008 models by taking them along for readers of Future’s bike titles to try out.

Readers of What Mountain Bike, MBUK and Health & Fitness magazine will also get the chance to meet the magazine teams and talk to them while trying out the latest bike models and innovations.

Matt Skinner, Editor of What Mountain Bike said:

"The National Demo Series reaches across the country, allowing riders to get to grips with the newest bikes and brands out on some of the very best trails that Britain has to offer.

"From Glentress in Scotland right down to Plymouth in the South West, the series is the perfect opportunity for readers to put the bikes through their paces before they part with their hard earned cash."

The confirmed dates and venues are:

10th February - Glentress, Scotland

24th February - Coed Y Brenin, Wales

6th April - Aston Hill, Buckinghamshire

27th April - Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire

18th May - Newnham Park, Plymouth, Devon

Hi guys, i have been invited to a Demo day by my local bike shop (or Scott shop as it should be known). it is going to be at the Army MTB Training ground in Borden Hampshire.
What can i expect from the day? Apparently trails are good and will be marked out.
A mate went to a BMC Kona Demo day at Crowthorne on 1 March but found no real support. He had to wear flat trainers as bikes didnt have SPD clips. neither was there an organised guide ride asnd he didnt know the area.
he was asked if he had brought toolkit and pump etc.
If you were going to a Demo Day what would you want to see?
My list says:
Fully supported Guided rides, knowledgaeble riders and tech teams to chat and discuss bikes n kit with, skills demo, kit demo, Tea on tap....
As a Demo Day greenhorn I may Review/Blog the visit for iBikeRide.com

From site....
What to bring with you:

All bikes will be prepared specifically for you, however if you have your own helmet and pedals feel free to bring them with you.

For those of you that are looking to go truly off-road, be prepared to get muddy.

IMPORTANT:

In order to test ride any bike, you will be required to show a utility bill and a photo ID prior to riding any bikes. This can also be given by an accompanying guardian. smilies/cool.gif

will you be my guardian angel Dan?

I am quite looking forward to this to be honest. All ready told myself there is NOTHING wrong with my bike and this purely something I am doing to write an article for on here, nothing else. I must NOT enjoy the bikes (too much smilies/wink.gif )
