Just had a session in my local woods in North London.
Funny all you really need is couple of logs a bit of space and some ditches, throw in some roots and mud for luck and you can kill 2 hours in the simplest of places.
Spent first 20 minutes dodging prams and finding a few sweet natural rooty drops and steep bits (really small but wake or more warm you up)
I'm worked on getting bunnyhops a but higher (we are not talking high here) but lifting the front wheel earlier and compressing more the back wheel to create a spring certainly helped.
I also played with wheelies as pre cursor to mastering the manual. Funny when I go slow it is cool especially if my knees are wide form the pedals and I'm working on having straighter arms which certainly helps.
I moved on the the manuals. I spent a lot of time jumping off the back of my bike but I take this as a sign I'm starting to commit more

. I also managed about 5 feet at one point but I think this was luck but what felt right for those few blissful seconds was having my butt right back behind the wheel. Lots of practice to go here.
Finally I did Cutties. I know I committed loads here as there are about 10 beautiful imprints of my body in Queens Wood now. Skidding is tons easier. Trying to get the same turn with all your weight on the front wheel and no break to slide you back wheel round whilst still retaining control is tough.
hopefully tomorrow get out again. Either more of the same (really keen to spend a whole hour on manuals) the same or Epping.
Anyway fun session. Where are all you North London riders???
How is everyone else's riding today.
