Mountain Bike Kit Reviews - Bottom Brackets
Written by stumpy_dan

Hope have a top reputation across hubs, brakes, headsets and more. The big area on display at the Cycle show was their move into the world of Bottom Brackets.

Using some custom made full stainless steel bearings (made by INA ) these machined aluminium cups are sealed with a labyrinth seal like on the hub rotor bodies and the aluminium centre tube is sealed with o-rings. Testing has been going well and we should see the units ready to go by January. Price is expected to be £65 for the stainless steel version, and there will be a full ceramic version to follow at about £95. So watch this space. The claim is less replacements and longer wearing. Let's see.

Their latest rang of hubs. Note the XC hub has now been discontinued.

No big changes for brakes in 2008. Introduction of Mono Mini Pro with carbon/ Ti upgrades as standard.
